What We've Built

Your network starts on the water.
It doesn't end there.

At Syracuse, we've done what coaches at top programs talk about — we've organized our alumni into a living, searchable network that students can actually use. When you're a Syracuse rower about to graduate, you're not cold-calling into the job market. You're making a warm call to someone who pulled the same oars, learned the same discipline, and wants to help.

Alumni Reach

Wherever you're headed,
someone's already there.

Our alumni have gone on to build careers in virtually every sector. Whatever field you're drawn to, we can likely make an introduction.

Real Connections. Real Results.

Stories from the network.

I wasn't sure what industry I wanted to go into. An alumni mentor helped me think through it, made three calls on my behalf, and within a month I had offers to consider. I didn't know that network existed when I committed. I wish someone had told me sooner.

I came back as an alumni mentor because someone did that for me. The discipline these athletes have — the ability to grind, to work as a unit, to stay composed under pressure — that's genuinely rare in the workforce. They're the first call I make when a position opens up.

The job search can be daunting as an international student hoping to start a career in the US. Having access to the Cuse crew alumni network was instrumental — I had full confidence the network would support me in navigating the employment process after college. It took a huge weight off my shoulders and was vital to making the most of my student-athlete experience.

My SU rowing connections are what empowered me to have the career opportunities I've been fortunate enough to have. My start in athletic communications came at Syracuse, working alongside our Sports Information Director while a student-athlete. When my career took me to Chicago, alumni and their families were amazing resources in helping me settle into a new city — and one year out, I've signed a lease with former SU teammates.

As a Finance and Real Estate student in Whitman, I connected with a Syracuse Rowing alumnus working in real estate private equity — exactly the kind of role I aspire to one day. He offered me a summer internship where I worked across the firm and learned more in practice than any lecture could teach. He also understood the demands of a collegiate rower, setting me up with a boat club to train with and a flexible schedule — I left more prepared for the workplace and went on to set personal bests in my 2k and 5k senior year.

When I was ready for a career change, a teammate reached out to Jason on my behalf. Within days, my story and resume had reached alumni across the network through our class captains — and over a dozen alumni responded with interview offers, networking opportunities, mentoring, and resume advice. I ultimately landed a job at Yelp with help from a fellow alum. The network showed up for me when I needed it most.

As a fellow rowing fan and Syracuse alum, I felt connected and supported from the first conversation — especially when an alum introduced me to his wife, an attorney, after I mentioned my interest in law school. They both helped me answer questions I really needed answered and encouraged me to keep being persistent in my goals.

I reached out to then-Captain Chase out of the blue, and he wrote me a letter of recommendation for the Navy. We've stayed in touch over the years — he even met up with me when he made One Star.
