In a recent tidbit we discussed how sometimes history is writing itself RIGHT NOW. With this year’s U23 World Championships kicking of in Poznan, Poland THIS WEDNESDAY and Henley in the books, this is LITERALLY the case. 8 Syracuse Oarsmen and 3 Syracuse Oarswomen will be representing their countries on the water in Poland. Be sure to check them out! They are:
MEN:
Beck Honebein and Declan Fry (rising Junior and ‘25 Grad, United States 8)
Jack Gorman and Luke Dunleavy (‘25 Grad and rising Senior, Ireland 4-)
Nick Bryan (rising Soph, New Zealand 8)
Payton Gauthier (rising Senior, Canada 8)
Niki Strauss (rising Soph, Australia 1x)
Joe Lynch (incoming Frosh, Australia 4-)
WOMEN:
Ellie-Kate Hutchinson (rising Senior, Great Britain 4-)
Antonia Pichott (rising Soph, Chile 2x)
Mackenzie Tuffin (rising Senior, New Zealand 2x)
Additionally, incoming Grad Oarswoman Tia Lenihan competes for Great Britain at FISU World U Games (and competed at Henley) and incoming Frosh Sarah Walsh competes for Ireland at their Home International Regatta!
We’ve also had several Henley Royal Regatta competitors, including Katie Breeze, Issy Kelland, Acorn Cassidy, Eva Barker, Hannah Makmale, Mack Carr and Timo Sitnik.
